I have a few gripes over this season.
1. Where the hell are the females? They’re barely using them this season even going so far as to have two episodes with zero females and then another two episodes with a guest female. Umm…it’s called LEGION of superheroes, there are like a hundred of them? You guys can’t pencil in a little more spotlight for the girls?
2. They included in two new regular cast members and temporarily removed one…so technically it’s only one new member to get lime light…please don’t start using a “hero of the week” format where you keep bringing in guest heroes for an episode, thus taking away from the regular casts plot lines. I spent a season caring for this incarnations group of heroes and the canonical changes that needed to be made because a) there’s like fifty years of continuity to sift through and b) this is a show marketed towards children. Please don’t ignore the main characters in favor of one shot guests.
It’s not even like I don’t want to see other Legionnaires, it’s just frustrating when an episode is taken over entirely by a guest Legionnaire to the point where I’m wondering why they bothered animating in some of the other characters.
3. Pacing. This was an issue for me the first season as well and I’m sad that the pacing is still terrible. The episodes tend to rush rush rush through without a lot of coherency and sometimes it gets really hard to give a damn when the episode is over and you’re going that’s it? But what about this thing you brought up? Or why did that happen?
4. I hate it when cartoons (this is not exclusive to LoSH at all btw) will change canon for backgrounds, motivations of heroes and villains or just to make the comic storyline they are adapting more suitable for children and then keep the romances that are canonical in the comics, to the point of making the episodes confusing or hamfisted as they shove THIS PAIRING IS THE ONE TRUE PAIRING AND THERE CAN BE NO OTHER!!!!Eleventybillion!!!!111!!!!!!! at my face.
