I’d never go back. And what do I up and do? Go back.
I’m playing City of Heroes/City of Villains again. I decided to start fresh and actually look at my playstyle and then build a character around it. Smart of me no? Only took me three years to figure that strategy out. So my new “mains” (for I am a giant altaholic) are:
Baby Bite: Level 8 Controller Fire/Radiation HERO! (She’s a bunny-girl.)
Kilty McBishie Level 12 Mastermind Ninja/Darkness VILLAIN! (He swears he’s a ninja.)
I might switch out of Kilty when I get sick of the joke.
I do miss playing my previous main villain Valentine also a Mastermind Level 22 Robots/Traps.
Let’s see what else. I desperately wait each week for the new chapter of Fairy Tail manga to be released. I’m definitely asking for the first couple of volumes of this come my birthday this year. Along with the newest Charlie Bone book and however many +Anima volumes I can bat my eyelashes, I mean get.
Get!
I’m also eagerly anticipating the next episodes of Dragonaut – The Resonance (yes the one where the heroines tears are so emo-powerful they can be heard from the moon!) and Rental Magica (yes the one where the hero wins his fights by fainting). I also am quite fond of Bamboo Blade still. It’s such a cute little slice of life sports anime and while it doesn’t bring anything new to the table I find myself really liking all the characters. Ooh and Shion no O. I have no idea what the hell they’re doing while they play Shougi but I love the murder mystery aspect of it!
Speaking of Charlie Bone I’ve started a re-read of the series in anticipation of the next volume. I’ve also got the Lemony Snicket books sitting next to me, mocking me for ever getting lured in by them. Seriously most disappointing ending to a series ever. I intend on re-reading it so I can experience the slamming my head against the wall sensation all over again.
Yes, I am a masochist. Thanks for asking.
RANT ON!
I’ve finished a re-read of the Artemis Fowl series and my god that author is totally smoking crack! I really liked the first two books and thought they made a good duology. I understood making a third one to tie up the series…but the third and fourth books I liked certain parts and really disliked other parts. Then the latest one The Lost Colony? Made me want to yell. OMG so much Mary Suing! Yes, I know Artemis is a male, but still totally Mary Sue’d. And overpowered. The whole book made my head hurt and not since the first one has the author just left it wide the hell open for another installment. Which is coming this summer. And I doubt I’ll buy, or at least I won’t buy for more than bargain bin prices.
My favorite part is that the series has completely crossed over into just what the fuck crack now and the author made sure to let the readers know that while this next one is coming up, it will be the last Artemis novel for at least three years.
FOR THE LOVE OF MY BRAIN CELLS JUST STOP WRITING THIS SERIES! DON’T PROMISE MORE IN A FEW YEARS!
*headdesk*
Yeah, needless to say I’m curious enough to want to know how he resolves all the giant holes and cliffhangers from the last book, but I’m pretty sure this is going to be my last ride with Artemis Fowl. I’ve had enough of a series that’s nothing but ridiculously intelligent and/or bad ass characters who are in the top three of whatever specialization they hold being snarky assholes to each other.
RANT OFF!
